QuickFF is a software package to derive accurate force fields for isolated and complex molecular systems in a quick and easy manner. Apart from its general applicability, the program has been designed to generate force fields for metal‐organic frameworks in an automated fashion. The force field parameters for the covalent interaction are derived from ab initio data. The mathematical expression of the covalent energy is kept simple to ensure robustness and to avoid fitting deficiencies as much as possible. The user needs to produce an equilibrium structure and a Hessian matrix for one or more building units. Afterward, a force field is generated for the system using a three‐step method implemented in QuickFF. The first two steps of the methodology are designed to minimize correlations among the force field parameters. In the last step, the parameters are refined by imposing the force field parameters to reproduce the ab initio Hessian matrix in Cartesian coordinate space as accurate as possible. The method is applied on a set of 1000 organic molecules to show the easiness of the software protocol. To illustrate its application to metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), QuickFF is used to determine force fields for MIL‐53(Al) and MOF‐5. For both materials, accurate force fields were already generated in literature but they requested a lot of manual interventions. QuickFF is a tool that can easily be used by anyone with a basic knowledge of performing ab initio calculations. Despite various studies on the polymerization of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) through different precursor routes, detailed mechanistic knowledge on the individual reaction steps and intermediates is still incomplete. The present study aims to gain more insight into the radical polymerization of PPV through the Gilch route. The initial steps of the polymerization involve the formation of a p‐quinodimethane intermediate, which spontaneously self‐initiates through a dimerization process leading to the formation of diradical species; chain propagation ensues on both sides of the diradical or chain termination occurs by the formation of side products, such as [2.2]paracyclophanes. Furthermore, different p‐quinodimethane systems were assessed with respect to the size of their aromatic core as well as the presence of heteroatoms in/on the conjugated system. The nature of the aromatic core and the specific substituents alter the electronic structure of the p‐quinodimethane monomers, affecting the mechanism of polymerization. The diradical character of the monomers has been investigated with several advanced methodologies, such as spin‐projected UHF, CASSCF, CASPT2, and DMRG calculations. It was shown that larger aromatic cores led to a higher diradical character in the monomers, which in turn is proposed to cause rapid initiation.  相似文献

Biointegration of titanium implants in the body is controlled by their surface properties. Improving surface properties by coating with a bioactive polymer is a promising approach to improve the biological performance of titanium implants. To optimize the grafting processes, it is important to fully understand the composition and structure of the modified surfaces. The main focus of this study is to provide a detailed, multitechnique characterization of a bioactive poly(sodium styrene sulfonate) (pNaSS) thin film grafted from titanium surfaces via a two-step procedure. Thin titanium films (~50 nm thick with an average surface roughness of 0.9 ± 0.2 nm) prepared by evaporation onto silicon wafers were used as smooth model substrates. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) showed that the titanium film was covered with a TiO(2) layer that was at least 10 nm thick and contained hydroxyl groups present at the outermost surface. These hydroxyl groups were first modified with a 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS) cross-linker. XPS and ToF-SIMS showed that a monolayer of the MPS molecules was successfully attached onto the titanium surfaces. The pNaSS film was grafted from the MPS-modified titanium through atom transfer radical polymerization. Again, XPS and ToF-SIMS were used to verify that the pNaSS molecules were successfully grafted onto the modified surfaces. Atomic force microscopy analysis showed that the film was smooth and uniformly covered the surface. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy indicated that an ordered array of grafted NaSS molecules were present on the titanium surfaces. Sum frequency generation vibration spectroscopy and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy illustrated that the NaSS molecules were grafted onto the titanium surface with a substantial degree of orientational order in the styrene rings.  相似文献

Oligodeoxynucleotides incorporating a reactive functionality can cause irreversible cross-linking to the target sequence and have been widely studied for their potential in inhibition of gene expression or development of diagnostic probes for gene analysis. Reactive oligonucleotides further show potential in a supramolecular context for the construction of nanometer-sized DNA-based objects. Inspired by the cytochrome P450 catalyzed transformation of furan into a reactive enal species, we recently introduced a furan-oxidation-based methodology for cross-linking of nucleic acids. Previous experiments using a simple acyclic building block equipped with a furan moiety for incorporation into oligodeoxynucleotides have shown that cross-linking occurs in a very fast and efficient way and that substantial amounts of stable, site-selectively cross-linked species can be isolated. Given the destabilization of duplexes observed upon introduction of the initially designed furan-modified building block into DNA duplexes, we explore here the potential benefits of two new building blocks featuring an extended aromatic system and a restored cyclic backbone. Thorough experimental analysis of cross-linking reactions in a series of contexts, combined with theoretical calculations, permit structural characterization of the formed species and allow assessment of the origin of the enhanced cross-link selectivity. Our experiments clearly show that the modular nature of the furan-modified building blocks used in the current cross-linking strategy allow for fine tuning of both yield and selectivity of the interstrand cross-linking reaction.  相似文献

The reactivity of 2-(2-mesyloxyethyl)azetidines, obtained through monochloroalane reduction and mesylation of the corresponding β-lactams, with regard to different nucleophiles was evaluated for the first time, resulting in the stereoselective preparation of a variety of new 4-acetoxy-, 4-hydroxy-, 4-bromo-, and 4-formyloxypiperidines. During these reactions, transient 1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.0]hexanes were prone to undergo an S(N)2-type ring opening to afford the final azaheterocycles, which was rationalized by means of a detailed computational analysis. This approach constitutes a convenient alternative for the known preparation of 3,4-disubstituted 5,5-dimethylpiperidines, providing an easy access to the 5,5-nor-dimethyl analogues as valuable templates in medicinal chemistry. Furthermore, cis-4-bromo-3-(phenoxy or benzyloxy)piperidines were elaborated into the piperidin-3-one framework via dehydrobromination followed by acid hydrolysis.  相似文献

The synthetic utility of N-alkylidene-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropyl)amines and N-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropylidene)benzylamines was demonstrated by the unexpected synthesis of 3-methoxy-3-methylazetidines upon treatment with sodium borohydride in methanol under reflux through a rare aziridine to azetidine rearrangement. These findings stand in contrast to the known reactivity of the closely related N-alkylidene-(2,3-dibromopropyl)amines, which are easily converted into 2-(bromomethyl)aziridines under the same reaction conditions. A thorough insight into the reaction mechanism was provided by both experimental study and theoretical rationalization.  相似文献

A new naphthoquinone, 11-hydroxy-1,9-dimethyl-6H-naphtho[2′,3′:4,5]furo[3,2-c]chromene-6,7,12-trione, named crassiflorone, was isolated from the stem bark of Diospyros crassiflora together with the known compounds plumbagin, cyclocanaliculatin, gerberinol, lupeol, lupenone and betulinic acid. The structures of the compounds were established on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data, as well as co-TLC with authentic samples. Some of the above compounds exhibited significant antimicrobial activity against bacteria and yeasts.  相似文献

The synthesis of multimetal oxides containing pentavalent elements like Nb and Ta out of an aqueous solution is very complicated due to the extremely high sensitivity of these metals towards hydrolysis. Moreover the only water-soluble starting compound is the oxalate which is not very suited for gel formation. Nevertheless, from Nb-oxalate it is possible to prepare a water-soluble Nb(V)-precursor by chemical modification. The synthesized precursor remains stable in the pH-range needed for gel formation. This Nb(V)-precursor is used for the synthesis of the ferroelectric material SrBi2Nb2O9 (SBN). An aqueous acetate-citrate solution-gel precursor for SBN was prepared. The chemical homogeneity of this precursor was investigated by means of TEM-experiments. All metal ions were found to be homogeneously dispersed in the precursor gel at least down to 10 nm. The SBN phase formation is followed by means of X-ray Diffraction. It has been shown that the perovskite phase already forms at 550°C.  相似文献

Suspensions of carbon black in oil, stabilized with adsorbed polyisobutylene succinimide (PIBSI) dispersant, are commonly used as model systems for investigating the soot-handling characteristics of motor oils. The structure of the carbon-black agglomerates changes dramatically with temperature; this results in a concomitant change in the suspension rheology. Linear and nonlinear rheological experiments indicate a large increase of the interparticle attractions as the temperature is raised. To elucidate the origin of this behavior, we investigate the effect of temperature on the stabilizing effect of the dispersant. Measurements of adsorption isotherms of the dispersant on carbon black indicate that there is little variation of the binding energy with temperature. Intrinsic viscosity measurements of PIBSI dispersants in solution clearly exhibit an inverse dependence of the dispersant chain dimension with temperature. These results suggest that the temperature-dependent changes in the chain conformation of the PIBSI dispersant are primarily responsible for the changes in the dispersion rheology, and we propose a simple model to account for these data.  相似文献
